Burning a CD on Anders, Annie, Bengt, Ejnar and Isaac using xcdroast

  1. Copy all the data you want to write to the CD to '/scr/xcdroast' (Attention: Burning via the network is not advisable!).
  2. Start the program 'xcdroast'
  3. Go to 'Create a CD'
  4. Choose 'Master Tracks'
  5. Choose the files to write on the CD in the right hand window
  6. On the ISO9660 options tab make the neccessary adjustments
    for long filenames on Unix machines
    Rock Ridge (anonymous)
    for long filenames on Windows machines
    Joliet Extension
  7. On the ISO9660 header tab you can specify a name for the CD
  8. On the Create Session/Image tab press the 'Calculate Size' button to check if the selected amount of data fits on the CD.
  9. In the 'Write session on-the-fly' check 'Enable protection form Buffer Underruns' and choose the speed for writing on the top.
  10. Then press the 'Master and write on-the-fly' button to write the CD.
  11. Don't forget to free up the additionally used disk space after finishing!
